The Nala Street Band was inspired by my late cousin Rick who's love for all music sparked the journey to the discovery of my love for music and art that came late in life and would never have been realized without those last few cherished visits he made to the Beach before his short life ended. The site will soon have his works available for your enjoyment after the old recordings are formatted and edited.

The Nala Street Story
Many years ago two young cousins with a love for music that would overwhelm both of them and later be part of the end of ones life journey, started a dream with an old Silvertone electric and a lot of imagination. At that time many names and inspirations were born even though inexperience and a thirst for knowledge was more the setting for that era in time. As days past and interest in genres changed one thing stayed the same, for us music was a common thread that kept us close for all the years past. With the tragic death of my cousin and an accident that almost took my ability to pick jumped out of life's school of knowledge, a renewed interest in music was reborn. While on my addictive journey back to music I was faced with a dilemma that I will always find amusing. I always wanted to be a part of a band when I was young, however when was older I never wanted to become a part of just one group. This was because of my love for the singer songwriter type of show that was hard to find in those days. Live music on those old LP's would give me chills as I would listen to them. I loved to listen to Guthrie, Parsons, Krosterporson, Fogerty, Young and others I can't recall at this time. This kind of music took control of me in many ways and affected my style and way I listen to music. All of this is a part of the Nala Street Band. Now with the Digital Age here I have the band I always wanted, even though it is a virtual band. The name came to me one day while thinking of days long past. When I was young Dad would always say I done everything bassackards, (a Frog Level word for backwards). With that in mind and being I waited until later in life to get serious about writing, and Alan spelled backwards is Nala, and how I always wanted my own street, ----- now ya Know. I do have some what of a band started now with my songwriter friend Harvey, and my nephew drummer Nick "The Killer". Maybe someday, who knows it just might happen.
